    Maynard Rupp Raced At Detroit Dragway

    Maynard Rupp was another of Detroit Dragway’s famous drag racers of the 60′ to 67. We are proud to say that Maynard Rupp raced at Detroit Dragway, and so we are glad he did.

    Maynard Rupp was one of the most successful drag racers in the 1960s. He competed at Detroit Dragway, and often won races. In this article, we will take a closer look at Maynard Rupp’s career as a drag racer. We will also discuss his racing achievements and what made him such a successful competitor.

    The Early Days

    Maynard Rupp was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1931. He was interested in cars and racing from a young age. Maynard Rupp began drag racing in the early 1950s. He quickly became one of the most successful drag racers in the country.

    Maynard Rupp’s success as a drag racer can be attributed to his skill and dedication. He was a very talented driver and he worked hard to improve his skills. Maynard Rupp was also very lucky. He had access to some of the best cars and parts. This allowed him to be competitive at the highest level of drag racing.

    Steffey & Rupp Partners

    Maynard Rupp was one of the most successful drag racers in the 1960s. He raced at Detroit Dragway and became famous for his skills behind the wheel. Maynard’s success on the track led to him becoming a partner in Steffey & Rupp, a successful drag racing team. Maynard’s skills as a driver and his business acumen helped make Steffey & Rupp one of the most successful teams in drag racing history. Maynard Rupp is a legend in the world of drag racing and his story is an inspiration to all who dream of becoming successful in the competitive world of motorsports.

    Steffey & Rupp was one of the most successful drag racing teams in the 1960s thanks to the skills of driver Maynard Rupp. Maynard became famous for his skills behind the wheel.

    Race Car

    Steffey & Rupp Race Car Chevoom

    The Steffey & Rupp Race Car Chevoom was one of the most successful race cars of the 1960s. The team was formed by Maynard Rupp and Bob Steffey, two of the most successful drag racers of the time. Together, they created a car that was fast, reliable, and competitive. The “Chevoom”, a rear motor Chevrolet Malibu was one of the first cars to use a nitrous oxide system, which gave it a significant advantage on the track. The team’s success on the track led to them being featured in magazines and newspapers across the country.  We will search our photos for our Chevoom photos.

    The 1966 Detroit Autorama Winner

    Chevoom was the winner of the 1966 Riddler award.

    In 1967 Maynard and Roy built a Mercury Cougar funny car with a sponsorship from STP Corporation and a budget of $15,000. The car was driven by Roy Steffey and ran in the AA/FC class. It was one of the first funny cars to run a seven-second ET.

    In 1968, the pair debuted a new car, again sponsored by STP. This time it was a Chevy Camaro funny car. The car was driven by Maynard Rupp and ran in the AA/FC class. It too ran seven-second ETs.

    The Steffey & Rupp race cars were some of the quickest and most reliable cars on the drag racing circuit. They were also some of the most stylish, with their sleek lines and bright paint jobs.

    Rupp continued to drive for Steffey & Rupp until 1970, when he decided to retire from drag racing.

    Maynard Rupp was inducted into the Michigan Motorsports Hall Of Fame in 2001
